Huawei has highlighted its collaboration with Sedona in its press release on OFC 2016. The leading Chinese vendor announced that it is cooperating with Sedona and Telefonica to demonstrate “multivendor multidomain interconnection.”
The press release elaborates, “The Huawei T-SDN controller provides open northbound APIs for integration with Telefonica and Sedona Systems’ devices. Moreover, Huawei is providing the IP controllers and devices to Telefonica’s multivendor interconnection synergy demonstration, proving Huawei’s industry-leading comprehensive technical strength in the fixed network transport domain.”
Huawei is one of five vendors that participate in Sedona’s world’s first demonstration of multilayer restoration.

The collaboration between Huawei and Sedona was also mentioned in a video published by Light Reading following the conference. Editor-in-chief Ray LeMaistre interviewed a number of participants in the demo, including Sedona’s CTO Ori Gerstel, and all highlighted the importance of multivendor interoperability in software-defined network management.
